About Miles MX Ltd (MMX)
MILES MX is a family owned and run business with their Shop/Workshop, specialising in off road needs, being based on a busy Trading Estate approximately 10 miles south of the Georgian city of Bath.
The Miles Family Rob (Dad), Di (Mum), Shaun (Son) and Kelly (Daughter) have been around the sport of motocross for some 16 years as Shaun has been riding since the age of 7. The family felt that there is a niche in the market for a shop like theirs in the Bath area and have recently ‘bitten the bullet’ to start up the business.
The family employment history is such that MMX already has its own Chief Technician, Accountant/Junior Technician, Administrator/Secretary and a Graduate in Business Studies to do their marketing/business strategies etc!
The family’s off road riding history is such that Rob rode Trials bikes back in the late 70s early 80s. Shaun started racing with Norton Radstock Schoolboy Scramble Club at the age of 7 on a Yamaha PW50, going on to ride his Honda 60 & 80, KX100 and Yamaha 125 with other schoolboy clubs. He then progressed to a 4 stroke machine and started contesting the MR Thumpercross Series and Remedies Bar Series on firstly a Yamaha and then a Honda. More recently Shaun has been riding Team Bike RMZ250 Suzuki with all bikes being maintained by his Dad!
Rob and Di have been active members in most of the clubs with which Shaun has participated. Di was an official Lap scorer at MR meetings and assisted at some of the Remedies Bar and South Somerset Schoolboy meetings.
The Family hope that they can make a success of their venture, now 15 months old, and they plan to cater for all on and off-road needs eventually – suppliers permitting!
